In 2003, Silverstreams CindyLou freshened with beautiful, twin doelings. We retained one of the doelings, Calico, in our herd. Calico is 3/4 Lamancha and a very lovely doeling. Her twin sister was sold to a show herd and is doing quite well. Calico will be bred next season. It is now the beginning of May and today I was looking at Calico out eating her grain and I noticed a little udder beginning to form; so, I guess my plans of breeding her next year, are amiss.

Emerald's Houdini

Houdini is the daughter of my outstanding Toggenberg Recorded Grade Doe, Emerald. Houdini was a surprise birthing, to say the least. Where I expected to see little brown upright ears, I noticed little elf ears. Also, Houdini is a white/cream colour instead of chocolate brown and I noted that she had a strong resemblance to a certain LaMancha fellow. Although this is a cross breeding, I felt that the wonderful genetics from both the dam and sire should not go to waste and therefore, Houdini remains with the herd. With the name of Houdini one can tell that this was and oftentimes yet is a questionable decision. Her acrobatic capabilities leave me sure that she has wings --not the angel type-- and although I would prefer that Houdini be left open this season, she may well have her own ideas.

Monique is a stylish first freshener that performed extremely well in the show ring this past year, earning her official leg. Thrilling results for a daughter of my favourite Moonie. Monique placed first in her class at every show, except one, when she was beat by her herd mate Shania. With an excellent start to her milking conformation, Monique produced quite well in the milking parlor and this year, she has been bred to my new LaMancha herd sire: Top Gun.

Luanne is a grade LaMancha who exhibits great body capacity and strength. Luanne has been bred to my new LaMancha herd sire: Top Gun. Luanne's 2004 doelings shall be offered for sale as recorded grades. This is an opportunity to acquire good breeding stock for a minimal amount of investment.

Silverstreams
Fancy Pants and her two siblings had a difficult beginning,
in that a few days after their birth, their dam,
Silverstreams Faith, had to be put down due to gangrene mastitis.
As a yearling, SilverStreams Faith was Grand Champion Jr. Lamancha at the Royal Winter Fair
and I had lots of hopes and dreams in her.
Fancy's sister,
Black Ice, is part of the Hanna Farms herd and has a lovely
udder. Fancy was mated with
Willow's End Top Gun and hopefully, the breeding took.
I shall be retaining the first doe kid but all others are for sale $200.00
