~ Awards Record ~ SilverStreams goats are multi-purpose; they earn their keep by producing and raising quality breeding and show stock offspring and, after their own kids are raised, their on-going milk production is utilized to raise meat kids and calves.
Amidst this productivity, SilverStreams goats compete in a variety of show rings annually and receive local, provincial and national recognition. To remain in the SilverStreams herd, each goat must meet these requirements competently and, this assists in maintaining consistent herd quality.
Due to time constraints, I've chosen to feature only some of SilverStreams 2003 Show Ring Achievements and, if you have any questions or desire more information, please contact me. Brenda, SilverStreams proprietor 2003 Highlights CLICK PHOTOS TO VIEW ENLARGEMENT; CLICK GOAT NAME TO VIEW PEDIGREE
1x-1st, 2x-2nd, 1x-RS.B.O.B.,
photo taken as a first freshener
Kastle had a very good show season; she won 1st place once and 2nd place twice; she was awarded Reserve Best of Breed once and Kastle earned a Championship Leg towards her Permanent Championship accreditation.
1x-1st, 2x-2nd photo of Kitty as a dry yearling
This Alpine doe is aloof and sometimes, she doesn't appreciate going to shows but, Kitty has done very well this season; she won 1st place once and 2nd place twice.
2x-B.O.B., 2x-RS.B.O.B., 4X 1st; 1X 2nd Born March 29, 1996 - 7 years old in 2003 Klover at 6 years of age
One of the senior Alpine does in my herd, Klover excels in conformation and milk production. Klover was awarded Best of Breed twice, Reserve Best of Breed twice, and received 1st place at four of the season's shows and, at eight years of age in 2004, Klover is not ready for retirement yet. Recently, she delivered twins and is ready for action in the 2004 Show Circuit. She's a real trooper !
1x-1st, 4x-2nd Born May 21, 2001 - a first freshener in 2003
Photo is coming Foxy is a very well bred doe but, she has a bit larger teat size than I would like to see. Foxy has done very well in the 2003 show rings and I remain very pleased with her placings. Although the judges acknowledge her larger teats, also, the judges comment on Foxy's incredible body structure and well attached mammary system. Foxy placed 1st once and 2nd four times. Very well done for a yearling milker.
7x-1st,
1x-B.O.B., 3x-RS.B.O.B., 1 Championship Leg Born February 24, 1999 - 4 years old in 2003 Shania at two years of age (second freshening)
Shania is a lovely, solid black LaMancha doe that excels in dairy character. In addition to producing twin bucklings, Shania had a terrific show year. She competed at seven shows this season and was awarded 1st place seven times, Best of Breed once, Reserve Best of Breed three times and has a Championship Leg towards her Permanent Championship accreditation.
4x-1st, 3x-2nd, 2 GCH; 1x-RS.GCH.&
Championship Leg
Photo is coming Wow! What a year for Monique. Monique was a first freshening two year old and the daughter of my favorite LaMancha, Touchstone Clair de Lune. She was awarded Best of Breed twice, Reserve Best of Breed once and a Championship Leg towards her Permanent Championship accreditation. I remain extremely pleased with her 2003 show placings.
5x-1st, 3x-2nd,
2x-B.O.B., 3x-RS.B.O.B. & 1X Best in Show Canadian Goat Society Registration Number CS31789 Born May 2, 1998 - 5 years old in 2003 a 2002 photo of Meghan
Meghan's bloodline goes back to one of SilverStreams Experimental does. Her pedigree is outstanding and the genetics are proven both in the show ring and the milk parlor. Some of Meghan's daughters are earning their keep in commercial dairies. Meghan earned her Permanent Championship and her show record speaks for itself; she was awarded 1st place five times, 2nd place three times, Best of Breed twice, Reserve Best of Breed three times and Best Doe in Show at Lakefield, Ontario, Canada.
1x-1st, 1x-2nd, 4x-3rd Born June 4, 2001 - second freshener in 2003
Milly is a lovely doe with a well attached mammary. This year, Milly had to compete with her Dam, Meghan, as well as all the other Saanens in her class. I believe that Milly will mature into the same type of doe as her dam, Rockey Acres Meghan - Permanent Champion, but also, I think Milly shall demonstrate improvement in her mammary. Milly's doeling, Silverstreams Miranda, entered the showring with a blast; she was sold to Doris Brady during the season and finished off her show season, with ALL First placings.
1x-1st, 1x-3rd, 1x-JR.B.O.B. Born May 11, 2002 - a yearling in 2003 a 2002 photo of Moment
Moment is another Meghan daughter and shares the same pedigree as her older sister, Milly. Moment took advantage of my senior years and played "catch me if you can" too many times, for my poor old body. Hence, she only attended three shows. Moment was awarded 1st place once, 3rd place once, and Junior Best of Breed once.
3x-1st, 2x-2nd, 1x-5th, 1x-B.O.B. Born May 21, 1998 - 5 years old in 2003 a 2002 photo of Pizzaz
Pizzaz is an extremely dairy Nubian. She attended six shows this year and was awarded 1st place three times, 2nd place twice, 5th place once and Best of Breed once. Pizzaz's lineage has been in my barn for many years and consistency in udder conformation in this line, has been proven. I would like to see a stronger topline on Pizzaz and more body weight being retained when she lactates. Pizzaz appears to give her all to the milk bucket and begins to loose body weight and considering that, she places very well in the showring.
2x-1st and Best Udder in Show Born May 12, 2001 - 2 years old in 2003
Photo is coming Holly is a first freshener and was late being added to the show circuit. She attended only two shows and placed incredibly well. She was awarded 1st place twice and Best Udder in Show. This is one little lady to watch in the future.

3x-SR.GCH., 3x-B.O.B., 1x-RS.B.O.B.and B.I.S. Canadian Goat Society Registration Number GT31928 Born May 9th, 1998 - 5 years old in 2003
Emerald as a first freshener Emerald in 2002
What can I say - Emerald embodies it all - both show and milk. Emerald is definitely one of the matriarchs of my SilverStreams herd. Sadly, because of being a grade Toggenburg doe in the show ring, many times the competition numbers are lacking and although Emerald has been Best of Breed numerous times, the low number factors have restricted her ability to earn her Permanent Championship. In 2003, Emerald enjoyed a fabulous show season, winning many restricted Championship Legs but, not sufficient full legs to receive her Permanent Champion status. In the 6 shows she attended, she won 1st place in the Senior Milker class, five times, and won 3rd place, once; she was awarded Senior Grand Champion Grade Doe status three times, Best of Breed three times, Reserve Best of Breed once and Best Doe in Show. Emerald has excellent show ring conformation, an incredible udder, and she milks like a trooper. |
